The government says that pulses, oilseed production increases while expressing concern over MPS imports

The government has told the Parliamentary Committee that domestic production of pulses and edible oils has increased rapidly over the last ten years. The MPs are concerned about the importance of India’s dependence on the importance of fulfilling the demand.

The Standing Committee of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food Process has been present in the presentation that the import of domestic demand for edible oil oil in 123-24 is 56 56 percent of the import of 5.6.66 million metric tons (MMT).

Sources said that at a meeting held by the Agriculture Ministry on June 7, the work done for self-reliance in the area was emphasized and the production of oilseeds has increased by 55 per cent between 1 2014-8-15 to 224-55.

The relative growth between 2004-05 and 2014-15 was 8 percent.

Since the country is almost completely dependent on imports to meet the demand for palm oil, some MPs have flagged about the health hazards related to relatively inexpensive food, sources said.

The ministry has said that India’s heavy dependence on edible oil imports is Rs. Based on the statistics of the ministry in the presentation of the ministry, India’s home production was sufficient to meet mustard and peanut oil requirements, but they had to import 3.49 mm sunflower oil against the use of 3.55 mm. Also imported over 60 per cent of soybean oil. Their production has increased by 47 to 47 percent between 1-15-5-15-55-55. While the Congress-led UPA is in power, their production has increased by 47 percent compared to Cent 1 percent in 1-14-6-14.

The MPs at the meeting demanded stimulating the farmers of paddy and wheat raising farmers to replace pulses and other crops.

The ministry detailed the government’s roadmap to achieve ‘Atmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) in pulses and oilseeds by 330-3, and this year’s budget was unveiled in this year’s budget.

Among the challenges of boosting the product of the pulse, the ministry noted that the Cent is 75 per cent of the crops, and the small and retail farmers grow at retail on minor ground with low fertility.

The presentation has also touched the presentation on the nationwide campaign of “optimal use of edible oils and its health benefits” after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a total of 5 percent for a total fitness.
