Center approves the purchase of 2.5 lakh tons of mangoes from Karnataka

Due to the appeal of Union Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy, these mango growers have struggled to produce surplus.

According to the scheme, the Center has fixed the purchase price at £ 1,616 per quintal.

Responding to the letter of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Chauhan Chauhan, Kumaraswamy, the decision was made in which the prices of mango prices were highlighted and the rate of mango prices were highlighted and the per quintal fell from approximately Rs. Kumaraswamy credited the cause of the crisis for adverse weather weather, the outbreak of the disease and the disruptive supply chain. Andhra Pradesh also affected mango trade in the border district of the state over banning the entry of loss of mango in Chittur from Karnataka.

Mango is a major horticultural crop in Karnataka, which is planted in approximately 1.39 LKH lakh hectares, which produces around 8-10 lakh tonnes in the state every season. This year, however, the income was less than 30%.

“This harsh drop has caused significant financial distress, especially among the small and border farmers, many of them are unable to collect their input costs, resulting in widespread protests,” Kumaraswamy said in his letter.

Chauhan replied to Kumaraswamy on Tuesday, saying, “This intervention will answer the genuine concern presented by you for the welfare of mango farmers in Karnataka.”
